Amy The Cookery Writer Who Travels to Work On A Boat

Amy Willcock, author of ‘Aga Cooking’, travels the country and the world with her ideas of combining traditional Agas with today’s varied lifestyles. She travels to work on a boat either the ferry or her own! Her lifestyle is unusual and yet she mixes that with the traditions of looking after a family with young children.

Amy is currently making pilot television cookery programmes – she may become the next big name in cookery and lifestyle. She can be heard on the radio, is married to businessman Jeremy who owns a hotel steeped in history and mysteries from the past times of shipbuilders - he also travels to work by boat to their hotel.

Amy, her husband and John Illsley (Dire Straits) run The Master Builders House Hotel in The New Forest looking out ,as the famous ship builders used to, on the Beaulieu River at Buckler’s Hard. Henry Adams built ships for Nelson’s fleet here. Amy Willcock also launched her own cookery range at the NEC Good Food Show 2002.

In the book there is even a section for children entitled “Mummy’s Little Helpers” with Aga recipes especially attractive to children!

Jeremy and Amy also run The George Hotel a 17th Century town house on The Isle Of Wight overlooking The Solent; it was featured in a TV serial called ‘Reach to the Moon’.
